Light Up Ikeja
Just when you thought you had heard the last of Tecno, they come back with an even bigger bang. This time, they are giving back to the community.
On the 21st of January, 2016, Tecno Mobile Nigeria launched their CSR initiative; a streetlight project which they called “Tecno Light Up Ikeja”. They installed 88 solar powered streetlights around computer village and its environs. Thousands of people around Ikeja gathered to witness the historic event.
I really appreciate the fact that they are taking global warming into consideration by using solar power. According to the Deputy General Manager of Tecno Mobile Nigeria, Mr Chidi Okonkwo, the streetlights will guarantee constant light; 7days a week, 365 days a year with no glitches. If this is not incredible, I don’t know what is because this will not only light up Ikeja but also ensure security.
The streetlights were installed by IFLUX, a member of TRANSSION Holdings who worked tirelessly until the project was complete. Mr Chidi went further to say that the project would usher back lost business opportunities for small business owners adversely affected by insecurity.
I personally have trust and great respect for companies that take their CSR very seriously, Tecno is one of them.
From being named the most customer-centric phone by NiMES last year to this successful CSR project, Tecno is a gift that keeps on giving.
